It seems that I am still numb about what had happened last week. I just want to burry it in my remote mind but still it keeps flashing back in my forebrain. Life is not that easy for me nowadays.
I am not complaining but I am greatly affected by how life was been treating me lately. I know there is a reason why it happened but I still couldn't fathom it. I am really confused and disoriented about it. God please help me to overcome it. Yes, it hurts but I have to accept the fact that it already happen and seared my dignity and ego. I am not whole again.
I remember this song way back home popularized by a gigolo singer which really emanates a very servile lesson in me. It may serve you a lesson, too, but I don't know if it will affect you. The song is titled as "Kapalaran" which is translated in English as "Fate".
Bakit ba ganyan ang buhay ng tao? Merong mayaman, may api sa mundo. Kapalaran kung hanapin ay di matatagpuan at kung minsan lumalapit ng di mo alam. O bakit kaya may ligaya't lumbay. Sa pag-ibig may bigo't tagumpay. Di malaman, di maisip, kung anong kapalaran sa akin ay naghihintay.
Why is it that the life of man has wealthy people and oppressed one on this earth. If we searched luck we couldn't find it and sometimes it will just appear unnoticed. Oh why is it there is joy and sadness? In love there is failure and success. I just don't know, can't think, what fate is waiting for me.
Such a meaningful song asking what will happen about life because honestly we really don't know what will happen to us, what our luck and fate is. We know there is a bad and good that will happen but we don't know which one will eventually come out.
In short, we are the ones who is really instrumental in making our own destiny. Our fate lies in our own hands. And we will be lucky is we can get a positive result although the negative result can give us life intimate lessons which can make us stronger and better as we exist on this world.
Life is very unpredictable. We should be on the alert all the time because we don't know what will happen in the future. Anticipation is the best thing for us to be prepared for what is to come. If we are prepared them the intensity of the hurt that we will feel will be lessened just in case we fail in our journey.
Life is not always about good and sweet promises. Life couldn't always promise us a rose garden. We have to know that life is always a mixture of good or bad, a combination of ups and downs, and a blend of darkness and daylight. We have to be attentive about it and anticipate on what to do.
As this song had inspired me I hope it will give us a lesson that life is not that easy. Looking for our own luck in this world is a challenge because life is complicated itself. Aaaah..... this thing called life is really a challenge.

A Godly Confidence
The strength to do what's right and true
God gives when we obey.
Providing faith for future trials
Because He knows the way.
As I spoke with afriend who had just learned that his cancer had returned, I commented on his remarkably upbeat attitude. He responded by saying that the Lord always gives His people the inner strength they need to face each trial. My friend likened what the Lord was doing in his life to a car owner who makes sure that the tires have enough air pressure to enable them to carry a heavy load and roll safely over big bumps on the highway. He expects the Lord to give him exactly what he needs to face each test until He brings him safely Home.
This wonderful assurance is enjoyed by believers who live in obedience to the Lord. In Psalm 41, David said that the person who "considers the poor" is blessed with the awareness of the Lord's presence in his time of illness. In verse 12, David referred to his integrity as he spoke of his confident anticipation of God's future blessing. Was he saying that his kindness and integrity earned God's favor? No, David saw himself as a sinner in need of God's gracious forgiveness. But his awareness of God's presence now and his assurance about the future were tied to his obedience to the Lord.
Godly conduct does not earn God's favor, but it does give us a foretaste of heaven in the here and now. -HVL
You can be confident about the future
if you walk with God in the present.

Ordinary People
God uses ordinary people
to carry out His extraordinary plan.
Have you ever been in the presence of greatness/ Perhaps you shook the hand of a world leader. Maybe you got close to a famous athlete. Or you may have had a book signed by a bestselling author.
To be near such icons of popularity and prestige can almost take your breath away. You've seen them on television or read about them in the newspaper, but now you're in their presence! It can make your skin tingle.
In reality, though, it shouldn't. No offense to the most powerful politicians. No slight to the world's top athletes or most prestigious authors, but they are all ordinary people. They may have done something great, but at the heart of it all they are just like you and me. In god's eyes they are sinners who need the grace of the only One who can truly be called grea: Our Almighty God.
Isaiah put it best when he said. "Woe is me, for I am undone!" He had seen a vision of God, and he was devastated by the contrast between himself and the Lord. Until God rescued Isaiah, the prophet was powerless.
We're all equally ordinary. But we can be lifted to incredible heights through the salvation God provides. Only an extraordinary God could do that for ordinary people like us! -JDB

The Miracle Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come before You just as I am. I am sorry for all my sins. I repent of my sins; forgive me. In Your name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give You my entire self, the evil spirits and all their works, I give You my entire self, Lord Jesus, now and forever. I invite You into my life, Jesus, I accept You as my Lord, God and Saviour. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul and spirit. Come, Lord Jesus, cover me with Your Prceious Blood and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I love You, Lord Jesus, I praise You, Jesus. I thank You, Jesus, I shall follow You every day of my life. Amen.

In Memory
We may not walk to the martyr's stake,
but we must walk in the master's steps.
After a long winter, a local newspaper celebrated the first summerlike day with a photo of a young man stretched out under the warm sun. He was wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, blue jeans, and a sleeveless shirt. One hand rested on his foreheaf and the other balanced a radio on his stomach. This was obviously his kind of day.
But there was more to the picture. The man was relaxing lazily on top of a larhe monument in a veteran's memorial park. On the marker were the names of 225 soldiers who had died for their country. As I looked at the photo, I realized that brave men and women had given their lives so that he could enjoy his.
This reminds me of the many gallant servants of God who willingly made the supreme sacrifice so that we could hear the gospel. They went from house to house, city to city, and continent to continent with the good news. Their testimony, often sealed in blood, made it possible for us to bask in the warmth of God's love.
Let's pause to remember the great price paid by our spiritual forefathers. Then let's ask ourselves if we are wiling to do the same for our children. May we determine to stand for Christ faithfully in life and in death. - MRD II

Spring Beauty
The Bible - Eternal Truth
and never-fading beauty.
As we strolled the woods together, my 9-year-old grand-daughter taught me something about plants. I had scarcely noticed, until Kelsey pointed out, that the forest floor was painted light pink with thousands of tiny flowers. "Thos eare spring beauties," she informed me. She went on to show me dogtooth violets, Dutchman's-breeches, and trillium.
After Kelsey called my attention to the wildflowers, I saw them everywhere. What a delicate beauty they brought to the landscape! And what interest and delight a young girl and her grandfather could share!
"If we come back in a week or so," I commented, "these flowers will be all gone. They're beautiful, but they last only a short time. We'll all jave to wait till next year to see them again." Kelsey already knew that. She had studied the seasons in school.
What Kelsey didn't know is what wildflowers teach us about the Bible. The flowers last a few days and are gone, Isaiah told us, but the Word of God lasts forever.
God's Word never fades, dries up, or blows away. Its treasures are there for us to appreciate each day.
Have you taken a walk through God's Word lately? Did you catch the beauty and majesty there? -DCE

Clean Up The Environment
Help stamp out pollution -
Clean up your speech!
What a frustrating problem pollution is! Everybody suffers from it, yet everybody contributes to it.
Pollution takes many forms, but one type is often overlooked. Charles Swindoll calls it "verbal pollution", passed around by grumblers, complainers, and criticizers. "The poison of pessimism," Swindoll writes, "creates an atmosphere of wholesale negativism where nothing but the bad side of everything is emphasized."
A group of Christian friends became concerned about this form of pollution and their personal part in it. So they made a pact to avoid critical words for a whole week. They were surprised to find how little they spoke! As they continued the experiment, they actually had to relearn conversation skills.
In Ephesians 4, Paul called believers to that sort of decisive action. He said we are to "put off" the old self and it's conduct that grieves the Holy Spirit and "put on" the new self that builds up others. As we rely on the help of the Spirit, we can make those changes in our conduct, our thinking, and our speaking.
If we want to be rid of verbal pollution, we must choose to change and ask for God's help. It's a great way to start cleaning up our spiritual environment. -JEY

Love Hurts!
Nothing costs as much as loving
except not loving.
"Sometimes love sure hurts!" The mother and father were expressing the difficulties and heartaches of guiding their children through their teen years. "Maybe if we didn't love them quite so much it wouldn't be so hard," the husband added.
Even though love brings pain and sorrow, what would life be without it? In his book "The Four Loves", C.S. Lewis wrote:
"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully around with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness...... The only place outside heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers ...... of love is hell."
To love is to take risks, to expose our hearts. Sometimes it hurts! It hurt Christ, but He kept on loving, even at the cost of His life. He commanded us, "Love one another as I have loved you."
We must keep loving that spouse, that teenager, that neighbor, that co-worker. It is Christlike - and it's better than locking your heart in a coffin of self-centeredness. - DCE

Apprenticeship Program
Children may close their ears to advice,
but their eyes are always open to example.
Life certainly was a lot simpler years ago. If a man was a carpenter, his son was likely to be the same. That's because the shop was at home and the boy worked with his father. That's because the shop was at home and the boy worked with his father. The son watched carefully as Dad cut the wood, planed and smoothed it, then fastened it together to build a table or a bench. It was appenticeship by example.
Most young people don't learn their trades like that anymore. Vocations are far too complex and the training way too demanding.
One aspect of lif, however, is the same as it was years ago. Children not only learned how to do things from Dad and Mom, they also learned about life. They saw their parents' values and ethics in action every day in their homes.
Christian moms and dads still have "little apprentices" watching how they put their beliefs into practice. It goes on at mealtime, in the car, in the store, in conversation with or about neighbors - all the time. What a wonderful opportunity to teach our children how to live for Christ! And young people not only need it, they want it.
Paul told his children in the faith to imitate him - to follow his example. Are we living for Christ in such a way that we want our children to imitate us? -DCE

Who Is Like Him?
The God of all grace
makes Saints out of the worst of sinners.
I know a young woman who refuses to believe that she can be forgiven of her sins because, as she says, "God wouldn't want someone like me." She recognizes the stain of her immoral conduct, but she doesn't realize the wonder of God's grace!
Actually, no one can fully comprehend God's grace, but like th eprophet Micah we can marvel at it an rejoice. Although he sorrowfully recounted the sins of his people, Micah went on to acknowledge the Lord's goodness. And he expressed confidence in God's promise to forgive and bless His people.
God's people today have even more reason to praise HIm. Micah didn't realize that God's Son would one day become a human being, live in a sinless life, and pay the price for our sins on the cross. He didn't know that Jesus would break the power of death and live in heaven as our Advocate until we join Him there. And MIcah couldn't read Paul's yet unwritten exclamation. "If God is for us, who can't be against us? He who did spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
In the words of Micah, we can say with confidence and adoration, "Who is God like You?" -HVL

The Man Called Jesus
I do not seek My own will,
but the will of Him who sent Me.
John 5:30
The Scripture teaches that even though Jesus did become a man, He never was anything less than God. Yet for a period of thirty-three earthly years He voluntarily gave up the independence exercise of His own rights as God. While on earth He submitted Himself to the Father, so that every word was spoken as God would have Him speak it, and every act was done precisely as God would have Him do it.

Do Not Be Anxious
Do not be anxious, said the Lord,
Have peace from day to day -
The lilies neither toil nor spin,
Yet none are clothed as they.
The meadowlark with seetest song
Fears not for bread or nest
Because he trusts our Father's love
And God knows what is best.

Soil Preparation
Spiritual growth occurs
when faith is cultivated.
A family moved from the fertile farmlands of nirthwestern Ohio to Arizona. Th ewoman wanted the kind of lush, green lawn they had back home, so they went to work on the rocky ground typical of the area.
Using a pickax, the husband pried the largest rocks from the sun-baked earth. Then, on hands and knees, they sifted out the smaller stones until a layer of topsoil emerged. After planting seeds and watering the ground for several weeks, they had a green lawn.
If we went to plant a lawn or a garden, the soil must first be broken up. Even the most productive land must be turned over and tilled. Otherwise, growth is difficult, if not impossible.
God sometimes prepares the soil of human hearts to receive His Word by a breaking-up process. It may be through a disaster like a hurricane, flood,or fire. Other times it comes through sickness, disappointment, or deep sorrow.
If you have been experiencing trouble or heartache, God may be softening the soil of your life so that the ssed of His Word can grow in you. Don't fight it. Let HIm have His way. Allow Him to produce patience and maturity in your heart. One day you'll thank Him for His soil preparation. -DCE

A Gift For God
If you paus eto think,
You'll have cause to thank.
Imagine what a heavy schedule of appointments Presidnet Abraham Lincoln had to keep day after day. Yet when an elderly woman with no official business in mind asked to see him, he graciously consented.
As she entered Lincoln's office, he rose to greet her and asked how he might be of service. She replied that she had not come to a sk a favor. She had heard that the President liked a certain kind of cookie, so she had baked some for him and brought them to his office.
With tears in his eyes, Lincoln responded, "You are the very first person who has ever come into my office asking not, expecting not, but rather bringing me a gift. I thank you form the bottom of my heart."
When coming into God's presence, once in a while let's refrain form giving Him a list of requests. Instead, let's simply bring Him the gift of our gratitude and love. We may be sure that nothing pleases our Father more than our sincere thanksgiving.
Why not spend time offering up the sacrifice of praise, meditating on the Lord's mercies, recalling the riches of His grace, and blessing His holy name? Today, give that gift to the Giver of all good gifts. -VCG

Take Time
Take time to think -
It is the source of power.
Take time to read -
It is the foundation
of wisdom.
Take time to play -
It is the secret
of staying young.
Take time to be quiet -
It is the opportunity
to help others.
Take time to love
and be loved -
It is God's greatest gift.
Take time to laugh -
It is the music of the soul.
Take time to be friendly -
It is the road
to happiness.
Take time to dream -
It is what the future
is made of.
Take time to pray -
It is the greatest power
on earth.
There is time
for everything......

What Time Is It?
Counting time is not as important
as making time count.
There are many ways of keeping time. Let's look at three of them. The first is called "world time." For many years this was how the world set its clock. world time was determined by the relationship of the earth to the sun, and it enabled man to measure time by the movements of the heavens.
A second way of keeping time was adopted in 1972 when the switch was made to "atomic time". this method mesures hours, minutes, and seconds not merely by the big picture of the heavens but by the highly accurate vibrations of the atom.
Then there's a third method. It's based on our relationship to God, and His timekeeping is perfect. Let me explain. When we recognize our accountability to God, we see that now is the time to surround ourselves with the values, thoughts, and attitudes of the Lord Jesus Christ. We become aware that our eternal rescue is closer than ever before. Because of our relationship to the Lord, we should heed the warning that time is running out for this world. If we are going to live by honestly and lovingly, we must do so now!
As you look at the clock today, remember that you should also figure time by your relationship to the Lord. -MRD II

What More Can You Ask
God's love endures forever--
what a wonderful thing to know
When the tides of life run against you
and your spirit is downcast and low.
God's kindness is ever around you,
always ready to freely impart
Strength to your faltering spirit,
cheer to your lonely heart.
God's presence is ever beside you,
as near as the reach of your hand.
You have but tp tell Him your troubles --
there is nothing He won't understand.....
And knowing God's love is unfailing,
and His mercy unending and great,
You have but to trust in His promise --
God comes not too soon or too late.....
So wait with a heart that is patient
for the goodness of God to prevail,
For never do prayers go unanswered,
and His mercy and love never fail.

Marking Down
Mark it down, things do not "just happen."
Ours is not a random, whistle-in-the-dar
universe. There is a God-arranged plan for this world of
ours, which includes a specific plan for you. And
through every ordinary day and every ordinary day
and every extraordinary
moment, there is a God who constantly seeks you.
The God who loves us and redeemed us..... is there,
and He is not silent.
Oh the depth of the riches
both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

The Old Tractor
God specializes in restoration.
My friend Gary restores tractors. He told me about an old John Deere that had been sitting in a farmer's firld for year's. It had served its owner faithfully for decades.
When Gary was finally able to start the tractor, the engine was in such bad shape that it couldn't have pulled a child's wagon, much less a plow. The belts were cracked, the wires were split, the plugs were rusted, and the carburetor was a way out of adjustments.
With loving hands, Gary went to work. He replaced the plugs and points and adjusted the carburetor. When he put it all back together and fired it up, its engine purred like a kitten. It can now pull a plow as strongly as it ever did. Under Gary's restorative skills, it will do it all it was designed to do.
In Psalm 51, David repented of his sin with Bathsheba and asked God to restore him to the place of fellowship he once enjoyed. He prayed; "Create in me a clean heart, O God.... Restore to me the joy of Your salvation."
Through neglect or sin, have you ended up by the wayside spiritually? Turn right now to the Lord. Place yourself in His tender hands. Confess your sin, repent, and ask His forgivenesss. He is waiting to restore you to Himself and make you a productive Christian again. -DCE

Lesson Of The 18-Wheeler
The power that drives us
comes from the spirit inside.
I was talking with a veteran truck-driver about his life on the road. We discussed interstates, cities, truck stops, engines, and tractors.
As he spoke about this huge rig, he referred several times to steering axles and drive axles. I asked him to explain the difference. He told me that the front axle of a truck is the steering axle. The drive axles, located under the rear of the cab, transfer the power that is generated by the diesel engine. It's the drive axles that enable the semi to climb steep grades, inch down dangerous slopes, and barrel down the highway to get the load in on time.
My discussion with the trucker gave me a new appreciation for those 18-wheelers, and it reminded me of a spiritual truth. Just as steering axles and drive axles are essential to a tractor-trailer, so also direction and power are vital to followers of Christ as we travel through life. The Holy Spirit provides us with both. He was sent to guide us into all truth. and teach us. We are empowered by the Spirit to witness, to pray, and to live a hope-filled life.
The next time one of those big semis blows by you on the highway, think about the lesson of the 18-wheeler. Call on the direction and power of the Holy Spirit. -DCE

Inspire Me
We continually remember before our God and
Father your work produced by faith, your labor
prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by
hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:3
~~~
I pray for inspiration and encouragement to come my way. By staying distant from people and commitment, I have chosen to avoid the connections that could inspire me in my faith. This journey is one that requires the help of other people. why do I resist that so?
God, please make me aware of those people who act out of love, concern, and sincere hope in You. Let their actions be examples that allow me a visible path toward a deeper relationship with You. May I, in turn, take notice of the time when I, too, can be a source of inspiration to another.
Ready To Believe
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith
and do not doubt, not only can you do what was
done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this
mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it
will be done. If you believe, you will receive
whatever you ask for in prayer."
Matthew 21:21-22
~~~
My prayers do not always reflect a faith of true believing, Lord. I find myself asking without faith in the outcome, without fully trusting that You are listening. Fill my heart with faith that leaves no room for doubt. Let my questions be those of a seeker desiring a deeper relationship with You, rather than those of a person who places obstacles between my life and the One who made it.
As I practice the discipline of prayer, may it make me ready to receive all that is good, holy, and of You. May my lips never release words that are not lifted up in faith.

A New Year Brings A New Beginning
As the New Year starts and the old year ends
There's no better time to make amends
For all the things we sincerely regret
And wish in our hearts we could somehow forget -
We all make mistakes, for it's human to err,
But no one need ever give up in despair,
For God gives us all a brand-new beginning,
A chance to start over and repent of our sinning -
And when God forgives us we, too, must forgive
And resolve to do better each day that we live
By constantly trying to be like Him more nearly
And to trust in His wisdom
and love Him more dearly -
Assured that we're never out of His care
Ande we're always welcome to seek Him in prayer.

A Strong Finish
People who think they don't need God
are in a no-win situation.
Long-distance runners know the importance of a strong finish. They know that many races are won or lost in the final steps.
Uzziah made a splendid start when he became king at age 16. Through his faithfulness to God, he restored his nation to honor and glory. Then he became proud and believed that the rules no longer applied to him.
Uzziah entered the temple to burn incense - a privilege restricted to the priests. Even when confronted about his sin, he arrogantly refused to listen - until leprosy broke out on his forehead. God had gotten his attention.
Uzziah stumbled before the finish line. He was disqualified. Instead of a record of great victories, he left his throne in disguise.
King Uzziah doesn't stand alone in history. Many men and women who once walked humbly with God become proud and walk away from Him. They persist in disobedience and refuse to hear the voice of God or the rebuke of friends. The way they finish spoils their race.
Have you wandered off course because you stopped following the Lord? You can get back on track and by God's grace get your "second wind." Humble yourself before God and you can still finish strong." -HWR

Something Has Changed
A changed life
is the result of a changed heart.
When some missionaries took the gospel to Vanino, a town in the far eastern part of Russia, they didn't know what effect their work would have.
A few years later, Gary Anderson of Baptist Mid-Missions, visited Vanino. He was met by the vice-mayor, who told him, "We have noticed that when people are associated with your church for a while, it makes a difference. It's as though they are reborn."
Anderson was then asked by the vice-mayor if his church would work with troubled families and directionless yound adults in Vanino.
Without knowing it, that city official had correctly described what had happened. People in Vanino had been "reborn" - born again by faith in Jesus, who died for their sins and rose from the grave. Each of them was "a new creation."
The question we need to be asking ourselves is whether people notice that we have been reborn. can anyone tell that there is a positive difference about our lives?
One of the greatest witnesses we can have as Christians is to leave a positive impression on others. The people of Vanino knows that something has changed the churchgoers. is it obvious to others that Soemone has changed you? -JDB

No Need Is Too Trivial
God bears the world's weight on His shoulder,
yet holds his children in the palm of His hand.
Several mothers of small children were sharing encouraging answers to prayer. One woman admitted that she felt selfish when she troubled God with her personal needs. "Compared with the huge global needs God faces," she explained, "my circumstances must seem trivial to Him."
Moments later, her little son pinched his fingers in a door and ran screaming to hi smother. She didn't say, "How selfish of you to bother me with your throbbing fingers when I'm busy!" No, she showed him great compassion and tenderness.
As Psalm 103:13 reminds us, this is the response of love, both human and divine. In Isaiah 49, God said that even though a mother may forget to have compassion on her child, the Lord never forgets! In picturesque language, God assured His people that He had inscribed them on the palms of His hands.
Such intimacy with God belongs to those who fear Him and rely on Him rather than on themselves. As that child with throbbing fingers ran freely to his mother, so may we run to God with our daily problems.
The almighty God never has to neglect others to respond to your concerns. He has limitless time and love for each of His children. No need is too trivial for Him. -JEY
